  • Getting a demo? Lookmark the item so you know where it is once you get back to the store to get it after trying the demo.
  • Shopping with friends? Share your lookmarks with them when you think you found something that you think would look gorgeous on them — or if you'd like their opinion on your discovery!
  • The friend you're shopping with doesn't have a Shopalicious HUD? No problem, ask them if you may track their camera and you'll see what they're looking at!
  • Seeing someone wearing an item you just have to get for yourself? Use Shopalicious's Fashion Spy to discover what it is and even get Marketplace links and lookmark URLs to the items!
  • Found something special in a store or at an event and blogging about it? Save a lookmark and share the lookmark URL on your blog! Other Shopalicious users can just click that link to go there and see what you were looking at!

The Shopalicious HUD

  • Set Lookmark Fashion Spy Lookmark Rating
The first HUD button serves a number of purposes. Normally, when you're looking at objects, it will show as the Set Lookmark button, which you click to save your current camera angle as a lookmark. The HUD will display what you're looking at, and the lookmark is saved with that name.
Once you've saved a lookmark, the button changes to the Lookmark Rating mode and lets you tell how much you like what you're lookmarking and if you're getting a demo or if you're purchasing the item.
The HUD will also display this button with the rating you set when a lookmark is active.
However, if you're looking at a person, the button changes to the Fashion Spy mode. Click it if you're curious what the person you're looking at is wearing!
  • Filter
This button is only visible if you've activated filters in Menu > Show/Hide Filter
This button has six sub-buttons. The top four correspond to the rating button, and activating one or more of them will tell Shopalicious to only display lookmarks which have this rating.
E.g., if you only want to see only the lookmarks with the heart rating, make sure only the heart button is active on the filter. Or if you want to see the items you've got demos for that you like (that have a star rating), activate the "Demo" and the "Star" buttons (but not the others).
The "All" button activates all ratings, and "None" clears them all.
If all ratings are selected, all lookmarks you saved are viewable. If no ratings are selected, you can only view the lookmarks you haven't rated.
  • Focus Previous/Next Lookmark
Cycle through the lookmarks you saved. If you're currently not looking at any lookmarks (i.e., if you're in the regular viewer mode), the HUD will switch to the viewing mode. If your camera angle doesn't change, hit the Escape key a couple of times.
  • Stop Focusing
The Stop Focusing button, located beneath the previous/next buttons, switches your viewer back to the normal mode (releases your camera).
  • Delete Current Lookmark
Clicking the Delete Current Lookmark button located in the bottom right corner below the previous/next Lookmark buttons, deletes the lookmark you're currently viewing.
  • Share
    Share your current camera angle.
If you currently have shopping buddies set (Menu > Set Buddies), the camera angle is shared with your shopping buddies (if they own a Shopalicious HUD). They will be asked if they just want to view it or save it (or they can decline it).
If no shopping buddies are set, Shopalicious will find other Shopalicious users currently in the same sim as you and lets you pick a name with whom you'd like to share your camera angle with.
  • History
Displays the last 20 parcels in local chat at which you've set lookmarks. The list includes links which let you teleport back to the location.
  • Search
Search your lookmarks. The search result is printed in local chat with lookmark URLs so you can teleport to their locations and view them.
  • Menu
Open the menu for more advanced functions.

Lookmarking

Setting and Rating a Lookmark

To set a lookmark, simply click the Set Lookmark button on your HUD. At all times, your HUD displays what you're looking at. This will be used as name for the lookmark when you set one. Some vendor boards don't display their contents, so you might want to focus on a rezzed piece of clothing on a hanger instead to get a more meaningful name. Alternatively, you can change the name of a lookmark after you set it by typing

in local chat (you'll see these instructions in local chat after setting a lookmark).

After you set a lookmark, the first button on the HUD will change to the rating mode: . If you like you can tell how much you like this item (it might help you later to decide if you want to get it). Also, you can tell Shopalicious if you're getting a demo or if you're purchasing the item.

This can help you, e.g., filter out only demo lookmarks if you go back later to purchase the items which you got demos for.

After setting a lookmark, its URL is printed in local chat. Copy it if you'd like to share it on your blog. When clicking a lookmark URL on a blog page, the map will open, offering to teleport to the lookmark location, and to view the lookmark, once arrived at the location.

Note that lookmarks are saved per-sim, i.e., the lookmarks you saved in a sim will only be viewable when you are in that sim.

Viewing a Lookmark

To view and cycle among lookmarks, click the Focus Previous/Next Lookmark buttons on your HUD. The HUD will display the name of the current lookmark and the lookmark's rating. You can interact with the rating button if you want to change the rating.

If nothing happens when you click the buttons, hit the Escape key a couple of times to release the manual camera override (if you cam around, the manual camera override becomes active, which takes precedence over the scripted camera).

To stop viewing lookmarks and switch back to the normal viewer mode, click the green bar below the previous/next buttons. This will release the scripted camera and put the viewer in the regular camera mode again.

Filtering Lookmarks

Shopalicious has a filter option if you only want to view lookmarks with specific ratings (e.g., to only view your heart-rated lookmarks, or your demos).

By default, the filter function is deactivated; activate it by clicking the Menu button , and then selecting Setup > Show/Hide Filter.

The Filter button has six sub-buttons. The top four correspond to the ratings, and activating one or more of them will tell Shopalicious to only display lookmarks which have this rating.

Deleting a Lookmark

If you're viewing a lookmark, you'll see a small red button in the bottom right corner below the prev/next lookmark buttons . Press this button to delete the currently focused lookmark.

Alternatively, click the Menu button and select Del. Curr. Lm.

Lookmark History

Click the History button to view the last 20 places at which you've set lookmarks. The list displayed in local chat includes links which let you teleport back to the location.

Sharing Lookmarks

There are several ways to share lookmarks:

  • Copy and share a lookmark URL, which is chatted to you when you set a lookmark or when you search your lookmarks. You can add the lookmark URL to your blog, and when a reader (who also owns the Shopalicious HUD) clicks on it, it will display a map so they can teleport to the lookmark location and view it once they arrive at the destination.
  • You could also just give the lookmark URL to a friend, e.g., by IM. When they click on it, it will also take them to the location and give the option to view the lookmark.
  • Click the Shopalicious's Share button . If you have shopping buddies set (see "Social Shopping" below), your current camera angle will be shared with all your shopping buddies who have the Shopalicious HUD. If you don't have any shopping buddies set, the HUD asks you with whom you'd like to share your camera angle.

Social Shopping

If you're shopping with friends, Shopalicious helps you exchange your ideas and opinions by making it simple to see what your friends are looking at. This is described in the sections below:

Setting Shopping Buddies

Once the friends you're going shopping with are all in the same sim as you, you can set them as your shopping buddies for your shopping tour.

Do that by clicking the Menu button and then selecting Set Buddies and adding all of your friends.

The HUD will display your current shopping buddies.

Whenever you see something you'd like your friends to have a look at, click the Share button , and they'll have the option to look at what you're seeing or save it as a lookmark immediately (provided they also have the Shopalicious HUD).

Tracking Someone's Camera

If your friends don't have the Shopalicious HUD, you can still ask them if you could track their camera. Click the Track Camera button and pick the person whose camera you'd like to track. The person will need to grant the permission to let you track their camera. Until they do, the HUD will display that it is waiting for the permission, and will start following the camera of your friend once they grant the permission.

Note that the camera transitions won't be completely smooth. The camera angle updates once a second.

If you don't want to track your friends camera any longer, just click the Track Camera button again.

If the tracking doesn't start, although it says so, hit the Escape key a couple of times to release the manual camera override.

Fashion Spy

When you're looking at another avatar (or yourself), the first HUD button changes to the "Fashion Syp" mode , and it will display who are you looking at.

If you click the Fashion Spy button, Shopalicious scans what the person you're looking at is wearing and will display a "style card" once it's done gathering the information.

The style card contains the name of the item and it's creator and, more interestingly, either a link to the item's Marketplace page or to the creator's Marketplace shop if the item couldn't be found.

Also, if a lookmark is available for an inworld location where you can get the item, it will give you the lookmark URL. As usual, clicking it will display the map so can teleport to the location and offer you to focus the camera on the lookmark once you arrive.
