When I try to send a snapshot, I get an error message or they don't arrive in my Wardrobe. What is the problem?

There are several reasons why sending snapshots doesn't work:

  • Do you receive an error message saying that the e-mail address isn't valid? If so, make sure that you entered it correctly. E.g., if you copied and pasted it, make sure that there are no leading or trailing spaces.
    For your convenience, Wardrobe comes with a notecard with the e-mail address as title. So you can just select that, press the F2 key, then Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C on Mac) to copy it.
  • If you can send the snapshot successfully, but it just doesn't appear in your Wardrobe the reason can be:
    • You entered a wrong e-mail address.
      Make sure that you use the one which is provided when you click the snapshot button (on the 12 o'clock position) on the HUD, which gives you the basic instructions how to send a snapshot, or is provided by the notecard with the e-mail address as its title.
    • You were not sending it from your SL viewer.
      Please only send snapshots directly in your SL viewer. Sending images by e-mail with your regular e-mail program won't work. If you want to upload existing images, use the corresponding tool on your Wardrobe web page: Import → Upload Image.
    • You entered a single dot on the last line of the message.
      If you do that, for some reason the SL viewer doesn't send the image, and the e-mail won't be recognized as a snapshot by the Wardrobe system.
    • The image you sent was too large.
      If your snapshot exceeds certain dimensions, it will be discarded and you will receive a return e-mail saying that your image was too large. Adjust the snapshot resolution in your viewer and try again.
